At the Summerfest days
« on: July 08, 2010, 04:45:53 PM »
Well! This is it. I took off from Vancouver Island on the 30th and after stopping at harry's in Boissevain Manitoba, I made it to Holly Michigan where I stayed a couple of days at Dave Wells' place. There was a freaking heat wave. The temps hovered around 40 C. A couple of times I stopped at a gas station and just put the water hose in my suit and cooled down. The crossing back into Canada on the Sarnia Bride was hell. Dave almost passed out of a heat stroke and almost did I!
We made it to TO yesterday and checked in at the Holiday Inn in Oshawa. BMW put me up here and take care of the bill. Thanks to Chris Duff and Norm Wells.
At the track they set up a place under a tent with a screen and all where I will speak for three days for about a couple of hours. I have three presentations set up for it. One about my trip in 2007 from Victoria to Cape Spear NL, the second about my "Almost killed me" trip from Victoria to Goose Bay Labrador and the third about the "2010 Frozen Butt Tour"
I am pretty stocked. There is also a display for me to sell my books. I will post pictures as I go.

I hope to see some of you there. ;)
The purpose of life's journey is not to arrive at the end of the line in a well preserved body, but to come in full speed ahead, sideways, saying "Holy Shit! What a ride!"
