I fianally got them done
« on: October 29, 2009, 05:57:02 PM »
BIG CHANGE! WE HAVE TO POSTPONE THE UNVEILING. THEY RAN INTO MAJOR PROBLEMS AT THE PUBLISHER AND THEY DO NOT KNOW IF THEY WILL BE ABLE TO DO IT ON TIME. I DECIDED I WILL ONLY POST ABOUT IT ONCE I HAVE THE BOOKS IN MY HANDS.

SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE

Hi there!:

Dammit! Finally! After running into as many problems as a lawyer would attending a seminar on honesty, I am happy to say that the books are finally out, done, available and real. The official unveiling is taking place in Victoria at Evedar’s on the 14th of November from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Whoops! My fault! I guess I am too psych'd. The first book is called Two Wheels through winter" it is about my 2007 record breaking balls freezing Cross Canada trip on my motorcycle from Victoria BC to Cape Spear Newfoundland from the 1st of January to the 19th. it sells for $28.79
The second one is called "Iceman VS Labrador. This one is about riding from Victoria BC to Goose Bay Labrador in January of 2008. This is the trip where I rode the 2200 kms of ice roads and hit temperatures of -61C. it is the also $28.79
Both books are about 300 pages and filled with 150 pictures in each. soft bound with color inserts as well
Here is another important part of info I missed. the Trafford.com link is where the books can be purchased. The link should be active in a few days.

I have to say that I am very proud of them. it took two years but based on the reviews I did a great jobs considering they are my first books.

The link to purchase them will be up and running worldwide soon. I will  send the GO time as soon as I have it. This applies to everywhere else as well.

If you would like to get them you can go to www.trafford.com and order them there, where it will be faster. You can also order them from any books store. You can also order them from me as many of you have asked me to write something in them.  I would also like to ask to not order them from Amazon.com because since I found out how much they rip authors, I have been staying away from them and passing the information about their scam as much as I can. But ultimately, I can only ask. You do what you choose of course!
So if you can, please order them from www.Trafford.com
But I must also apologize for the delay. Being my first ones, I was not sure what to do and how to do it. Being an author as I learned is not an obvious science.  Once I figured it out and had them well under way, every time they were ready to send for printing, I would redo them again. I am known as being anal retentive some times.
Ok! I do not have to try this hard. I kept reading them over and over again, and every time I could find some pages that did not quite say what I wanted to say and how I was trying to say it. I wanted the feelings and emotions I had during these trips to be on the pages. I did not want my books to just be books. I do not like to be bored and the last thing I wanted is for you to be bored.
I hope you like them. I put all I have and all that I am in these pages. I shared not only the trips and the experience but also big parts of me. At times I hope they will make you laugh, and at others they will make you cry.
These books are not about me. They are about us, motorcyclists, adventurers, risk takers, life grabbers, and all others in between. I hope you will see yourself in them or someone you know. Living these trips has been incredible and surviving them, life altering experiences. But slowly reliving them as I put them on paper has been.... Well-you will see!!
Thank you again so much for having been there for me and allowing me to share these with you.
Thanks again for all the help and support. Without so many encouraging me, I would have NEVER done this.

Well! This is it! I finally dealt with all the troubles (Lord knows I had many) I had with the publisher and the books are finally out. The unveiling will be at Evedar’s Bistro in Victoria on the 19th of December at 12:30
I will have the books there for sale. The price for each book will be $24.99 CDN. If you or someone else would like to encourage me by buying it online I would like to ask you not to buy it from Amazon. The reason is that I have found out that they are scamming the authors so much with the deal that I guy like my has only $0.31 left on the book.

That is right! 31 cents! If you want, go to http://www.trafford.com/Bookstore/BookDetail.aspx?BookId=SKU-000132299. You will pay the same as Amazon but it is better for me.

I am also set up to ship them myself which is the best for me. You can pay at PayPal to Paul@spamPaulMondor.com (remove the word "spam" -- admin) and I will ship it anywhere in Canada for free for the price of $24.79 for “Two wheels through winter” and $28.99 for “Iceman vs. Labrador” . I can also ship it to the US for the price of $25.99 US

I know it has been a hell of a long process and I can tell you that writing a book is not as easy as I thought. Well! The writing part is easy. The dealing with the bureaucracy is a pain in the ass (Whoops! Derriere!)
I would like to thank you all for the encouragement and the patience which at times I really did not have.

Thank you

PS: Many people have asked me to send them a copy with something written in it. I will! I do not have a secretary! (At times I need it), but I will send it to you ASAP. If you would like me to do the same, please just send me an email with your address and what you would like this crazy French Canadian Frog to write in it and I will do it. If you stay close and want to have it straight from me please just ask me and I will do it.

First book done. Just like being right there with you. As you work through the book, you cant put it down ,you have to reach the end.

I had a lump in my throat to the very end. Again thanks. Will start the second one tonight. :)
